Two Ford Mustangs riding together on the interstate usually ends up involving a battle of the horses, especially if both drivers are buddies and both cars feature a fair amount of power. The Ford Mustang ROUSH 428R 5-speed in this video is complete with a ROUSHcharged 4.6-liter which puts down an impressive 435-HP and 400 ft. lbs. of torque. Meanwhile, the 6-speed Mustang GT 5.0-liter is putting down 412-HP and 390 ft. lbs. of torque. Not a bad race considering the closeness in power of these two cars.
The ROUSH 428R sounds mean with that whine coming from the ROUSH supercharger. Not only does it sound mean, but it certainly looks mean flying down the interstate. Considering only 200 ROUSH 428R’s were produced for 2008, hopefully he stays smart and doesn’t flip it into a ditch and end up in another not so fortunate video. People are not shy about posting themselves participating in illegal street racing on YouTube. The videos are endless.
The guys filming in the Mustang GT 5.0-liter are a little bit too excited (as it seems to be the case with most people behind the video camera). In this particular video, it appears that the ROUSH took the win but the GT wasn’t lagging behind one bit. Chomping on the heels of the ROUSH, the GT kept its own. Definitely a fair race between both Mustangs. Next time, take it to the strip, fellas!
