There is no shortage of remote-controlled cars out there based around famous, iconic vehicles. This is especially true of the modern Mustang, of which there are a variety of versions from several different RC car makers to choose from. If you want a more classic-looking Mustang, however, your options are far more limited, or at least they were.
Vaterra has secured an official Ford license to produce a scale model reproduction of the 1967 Ford Mustang, and naturally they went with a Bullitt motif to debut it to the world. Now all we need is a black Dodge Charger and a scale model of San Francisco to complete the set.
While the $289 price tag isn’t what we’d call cheap, if you’ve even glanced at the classified ads for classic Mustangs these days, you know the kind of crazy money a legit ‘67 or ‘68 fastback is bringing. For the fraction of the cost of what might generously be described as a project car, you can get a scale model Mustang with the kind of features full-sized Mustang owners dream of.
The 1/10th scale model features an injection-molded body, four-wheel drive, and an independent suspension system that allows for high-speed turning and maneuvers. About the only thing this all-electric RC car shares with the original ‘67 fastback is a Highland Green paint job and a timeless design that will never, ever go out of style.
