If you thought Ford’s 5.0-liter engine found in the 2011-and-up Mustang GT was the only Coyote having all of the fun, you’d be sadly mistaken. Sure, the Four-Valve V8 found in the 2011-and-up F-150 isn’t exactly the same engine as the one found in the Mustang, but that hasn’t stopped Blue Oval enthusiasts from tinkering with these engines.

In fact, they are so popular as of late that suppliers, like AmericanTrucks, boosting those powerplants. In the video above, Adam Maqboul and his team install a ROUSH Performance 2.3-liter TVS supercharger on a bone-stock 2012 Ford F-150 FTX Tuscany Package pickup truck with impressive results.

The truck, which Adam admits is mostly used to tow racecars like its Mustang on a trailer, can definitely benefit from the added horsepower and torque delivered by the positive-displacement supercharger. Before installing the 2.3-liter TVS, the bone-stock, unmolested F-150 laid down a respectable 310 horsepower and 328 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels.

Post installation, power nearly doubled. The Coyote truck put down 500 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels – an impressive gain of 190 horsepower and 152 lb-ft of torque.

So, how does the truck feel with all that extra performance?

“That low-end torque is going to help us get off the line a lot easier,” Adam said. “You can feel the torque kick in when you lay into it.”
