Lunati’s new line of Voodoo cranks and rotating assemblies are designed to be affordable yet support aggressive street and race assignments.
“They’re economical, yet good for up to 800 horsepower,” says Lunati’s Todd Ryden. “All Voodoo cranks are forged 4340 non-twist steel and finished at Lunati.”
Voodoo cranks are also nitride heat treated and come with micropolished journals. Lightening holes in the rod journals reduce crankshaft weight, all cranks are shaped and profiled design to reduce windage.
“The next step up is Lunati’s Signature Series and is proven up to 1,500 horsepower,” says Ryden.
The Signature Series forged 4340 steel cranks feature either 7/8- or 3/4-inch lightening holes, gun-drilled mains, pulsed plasma nitride treatments, micropolished journals and journal radii are ground to .140-inch. Lunati also offers a specialized Signatuare crank for supercharged applications that include dual keyways, 3/4-16 thread in the nose and the #1 rod journal is not drilled for increased strength up front.
Lunati can provide complete engine kits or full rotating assemblies, according to the needs of the customer. The Voodoo connecting rods are H-beam designs and manufactured from 4340 forgings. They’re heat treated, stress relieved, shot-peened, Magnafluxed and come with ARP 2000 bolts. Lunati also offers a Pro Series I-beam rod that is CNC machined, deburred and comes with a 7/16-inch ARP 2000 cap screw.
Lunati can supply pistons to meet a variety of street and race applications. All are forged from 2618 alloy aluminum and feature fully machined crowns, flat ring grooves and precise weight tolerances.
“The rotating assemblies come fully balanced,” reminds Ryden.
Voodoo and Signature kits are available for most popular applications in variety of displacements and compression ratio. Full engine kits include cranks, rods, bearing, pistons, rings, piston pin, Lunati camshaft, lifters and timing set.
