The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor off-road pickup has found a very devoted following among off-road enthusiasts. While the 6.2 liter V8 engine does deliver some impressive power from the factory, Ford has yet to see fit to fit some form of forced induction on to it. They have left that up to the aftermarket…and the aftermarket has responded in full force.
We were recently tipped off by Livernois Motorsports of an engine build they are doing for a customer in California. How does a ProCharged Raptor with a 400 cubic-inch engine sound?
That’s what Livernois has on tap for their unamed mail-order customer. After the customer’s engine let go in his Raptor (no doubt due to some serious thrashing) he decided to chase his dreams by ordering a near-bulletproof Livernois motor.
This engine is destined for a ProCharged SVT Raptor
The build starts with a new OE engine block machined by Livernois. The OE heads were also machined by Livernois. From there the Original Equipment list ends, as Livernois installed their own 400 cubic-inch rotating assembly. This includes a forged crankshaft, spec billet rods, 9.5:1 compression ratio forged pistons, and coated bearings.
The whole assembly was balanced and blueprinted by Livernois, who went ahead and put it together with their own head bolts, valve springs, and rocker arm brace. And to top it all off, Livernois gave the engine a set of their custom camshafts, to get the most out of that supercharger. Sounds like a winning combination to us.
