If you were to look up the word domination in the dictionary of drag racing, there’s little doubt that find a photo of Ohio native Jason Lee and his Strange Engineering-backed 1985 Four-Eye Fox body Mustang.

Lee, the reigning champion of both the NMRA and NMCA 275 Drag Radial categories, carried the Strange Engineering banner into battle for the second straight season, aiming to repeat in both series with a fresh new look on his familiar Mustang.

Lee kicked things off on the right foot on the NMRA side, scoring a win over Don Lamana at the season-opening Spring Break Shootout in Bradenton. Lee added wins in Atlanta, Milan, Joliet, and Columbus. Lee put an exclamation point on the season with a victory at the season-ending NMRA World Finals in Bowling Green, Ky., where he qualified No. 1 and downed Kurt Borton and his Fairmont in the money round. All told, the only blemish on Lee’s season came at the Maryland International Raceway in May when he dropped a close final to Brian
Tuten.

Along the the trail to the NMRA championships, Lee amassed more points than the next five racers in the standings combined. Lee is also atop the NMCA 275 Radial points standings with one  event — this weekend’s World Street Finals in Indianapolis — remaining. In addition to the race wins and the title, the Strange Engineering team set the NMCA class records at 7.469 seconds and 190.11 mph in Bradenton and the NMRA standards at 7.361 seconds and 190.54 mph in Maryland.
