The 2015 Mustang is officially being delivered to anxiously awaiting owners across the country. One of the first to be delivered was to our friends over at LateModelRestoration. The crew took delivery of their triple yellow car, and is already digging into it to find out what the ’15 can do.
Before they started testing, and replacing parts, some break-in was in order, LateModelRestoration style. So appropriately they slapped on some different wheels proceeded to hoon the car around the parking lot, with the Coyote engine singing. There’s plenty of tire smoke, lots of black marks, and we’re sure a big smile on the driver’s face.
Down to serious business, the tech crew at LateModelRestoration strapped this bright and sunny beast to their in-house Dynojet chassis dyno to see what kind of baseline they’re starting with. The first blast on the dyno tells the story, with solid numbers making to the rear tires via the MT-82 transmission and the independent 8.8 rear.
The brand new, S550, with only 12 miles on the odometer, put down a stout 375 hp and 358 ft-lbs of torque. It won’t take long for the LateModelRestoration guys to have this car making over 400 hp to the tires, and we’ll be following along right here as they build one of the first all-out 2015 Mustangs.
