Anthony Ballard is our type of guy. He’s a Mustang aficionado with a Whipple-supercharged Coyote Mustang making huge power. In the video above, brought to us by Spoold Media, Anthony’s Mustang (dubbed appropriately the “Guillotine”) hits the rollers on the dyno at the Street Car Takeover Charlotte, North Carolina, event, making more than 1,000 horsepower at the rear wheels on E85 — on boost alone.
Admittedly, Anthony says he has a Nitrous Express system installed on the car, but didn’t have the juice hooked up on that run. To prove that, Anthony has dyno’d the car since then with the spray engaged and it laid down an impressive 1,128.53 horsepower and 920.82 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels prior to the video.
He runs a Livernois Motorsports and Engineering built Coyote short-block with ARH long tube headers, paired with a set of race-ported cylinder heads with Ferrea valves and Stage 3 blower camshafts.
“We made some changes to the crank and went with a better set of pistons,” Anthony told us. “We wanted to prep the bottom-end a bit better for the use of nitrous alongside the new Whipple supercharger.”
Thanks to BMR Suspension out back, Anthony is shooting for the sevens in the quarter-mile and is looking to take the crown for the 6R80 automatic transmission record. At the time of this writing, his quickest pass to date was an 8.26 at more than 167 mph in the quarter-mile. We look forward to seeing what Anthony can accomplish in the future!
