Video: Classic Recreations Shelby GT500CR 900S Shreds Tires

Owning a Shelby Mustang is a special experience, especially if it’s a classic original. Alas, most of us can’t afford an original, and even if we could, how many of us could really enjoy driving an old, valuable car? We’d be worried about getting it dinged, dented, and scratched out in the real world. A better (and more comfortable) option might be Classic Recreation’s GT500 CR line. Classic Recreations has just released this promo video for their GT500CR 900S (formerly known as the Venom) and it’s a fun, two-minute video that showcases all the things we love about vintage Mustangs.

For the uninitiated, the Shelby GT500CR is an officially licensed Shelby Mustang, built by Classic Recreations. Under the hood is a fuel-injected, 427 cubic-inch V8 with a ProCharger strapped to it, producing a stump-pulling 790 horsepower. Backing the big-block is a Tremec six-speed manual transmission.

The promotional video above looks like it would have been a blast to make (save for an apparent pull-over by the po-po). It’s really just the Shelby GT500R 900S burning out, driving fast, and power sliding all over the place. It’s the kind of video that makes us want to refinance our house just to buy one.
