In the world of SEMA, many a show car is put together, unveiled, and then pushed to the back of the shop until finding its way onto eBay. Often times these cars have crazy-powerful engines that have never even been fully flexed, which if you ask us is borderline criminal in the car world. If you’re going to spend $100,000 building a 600 horsepower show car, you should at least top that bad boy out.

That is precisely what Creations ‘N’ Chrome did for their 2011 SEMA project, the Boy Racer Mustang. Amazingly, they were able to take this “show car” up to an impressive top speed of 182.4 mph.

The first thing most people notice about the Boy Racer Mustang is the outlandish 3dCarbon bodykit, which is all at once shiny and bold. But under the hood is a Vortech supercharged 5.0 liter V8 which reportedly produces 580 horsepower. That’s hardly the most horsepower of any SEMA car, but as the Boy Racer proves, it isn’t how much power you have, but how you use it that matters.

Creations ‘N’ Chrome took the Boy Racer Mustang out to the Mojave Mile for a top speed run, and despite crosswinds of up to 20 mph, they hit a very respectable speed. 182.4 mph in fact, which definitely places it in the upper echelon of speedy show cars. Hell, most shops wouldn’t even take a show car like Boy Racers out for a top speed run, so say what you will about the styling. This Mustang has the chops to back up its looks.
