An auto accident is never a fun situation, especially when it’s caused by a malfunctioning traffic light as it is in this video. Technically, when the light is out you should treat it as a stop, but if you are looking for red to stop and don’t see it, it’s hard to pin all the blame on the driver of the 2016 Mustang.
Our view comes through the action-camera footage of a motorcyclist who caught the whole thing on video firsthand. He not only stops at the broken light, but points it out to those viewing the video so that you know why the accident is about to take place.
Luckily, a police car was at the intersection, so first responders were there in an instant, and it appears that neither driver was seriously injured. That being said, the Mustang is likely going to be totaled due to the severe front end damage sustained in the accident. The Hyundai is also a little worse for wear and probably won’t be on the road anytime soon either.
The video takes place in the United Kingdom, where the vehicles are right-hand drivers. This worked out to the benefit of the driver of the Hyundai because were the car a left-hand driver, the impact would have been squarely on the driver side door. Instead, the Mustang made contact with an empty passenger seat.
