Though the new year isn’t quite here yet, Ford has made sure it starts 2014 with a bang by revealing the 2015 Mustang a few weeks ago. Yet the Mustang is just one small piece of a complex organization that continues to expand both domestically and globally. The One Ford plan, uniting the Blue Oval across all continents, is finally starting to hit its full stride, and 2014 will be a big year for Ford.

In fact, Ford says that in 2014 the brand will launch 23 new models globally, 16 new models in America, as well as add at least 5,000 jobs in the U.S. alone. So what do we have to look forward to in 2014?

Obviously there’s the 2015 Mustang, which celebrates its 50th birthday in April and will get dual celebrations in both Charlotte, North Carolina and Las Vegas, NV. But the arguably bigger launch is an all-new Ford F-150, which isn’t just Ford’s best-selling vehicle, but the best-selling vehicle in America. It’s an important launch for Ford, no doubt, but there are another 14 new vehicles Ford plans to launch.

Among them is the new Escape-based Lincoln MKC crossover, as well as the E-series replacement Ford Transit van. There’s also talk of a redesigned Ford Focus breaking cover sometime in 2014, and a new 1.0 liter EcoBoost-powered Fiesta for those looking for something frugal on fuel. Globally, Ford will launch almost two-dozen new or redesigned vehicles, the most in its 111-year history.

The Blue Oval will also open three new manufacturing plants; two in Asia, and one in South America, even though it’s pulling out of the Australian market. These new factories mean thousands of new jobs, and in America Ford will add around 3,300 salaried workers, the rest being of the hourly type.

2014 will be a big year for Ford, for more reasons that just the new Mustang.
