Brenspeed is known for building some of the most exciting Mustangs in the country. At NMRA events the Brenspeed R&D cars are sometimes a conundrum as they may run a blistering time at on event, only to turn in a slower time slip at another event later in the year. This is because Brenspeed is constantly testing and refining the products they sell to their customers to ensure durability, reliability, and performance that lives up to customer demands.

For the NMRA Spring Break Shootout Brenspeed sent several R&D cars to Bradenton, Florida for further testing, and here are two of them. The theme for this event is to run what their customers run. The first car flying the Brenspeed banner is the familiar 2006 Mustang Convertible piloted by Brenspeed engine builder Kent Nine. This car was sent in low boost trim to test the Edelbrock E-Force Stage 1 turnkey package that Brenspeed sells. With a Brenspeed B326 engine under the hood this car has already turned in consistent 10.80 timeslips this weekend, and that is with the stock 5R55S transmission and torque converter.

The second car flying the flag of Brenspeed is the 2013 ROUSH development vehicle. Brenspeed is running a stock long block in this car with their 650R supercharger package onboard. With only a Circle D converter to aide the stock automatic transmission, this 4,000 lbs car has ripped off 10.70 ET’s consistently during testing already this weekend.
