There is no doubt that we love the 2011 GT500 Mustang and we’re not alone in that regard. The updated snake has shed both weight and its gas guzzler qualification, gained power and carries a bargain basement price tag – compared to its competition. The car’s performance, based on the supercharged all-aluminum engine is to be envied by anyone and the most recent suggestion is that even Doc Brown from Back to the Future should be among those.
So Fast, It Warps Time: That is the suggestion from a series of print ads developed by Zubi Advertising for Ford Motor Company. The company has been involved with Ford, and the Mustang, for several years now, specializing in approaching the Hispanic market.
With a particular twist, the Miami-based agency has released three ads with only the caption “0 to 60 MPH IN 4.1 SECONDS” beside “Mustang GT500” and the Cobra snake badge. Each displays a building in the midst of a residential area. One is a Post Office, another a theater and the last a restaurant.
Implicit in the message is that the GT500 is so fast, it’s like having your destination already in the driveway. Well, it may be obvious for some, but we’re betting that a lot of potential Mustang owners are going to left inside a temporal paradox trying to figure that one out. It is likely that rear wheel wells spewing torrents of rubber smoke are going to be more easily understood than this esoteric message.
Check out the ads and see what you think. As Mr. Spock would say… “Curious.”
