Ken Block has made a name for himself as Ford’s new rally car champion, rocking a 600+ horsepower, all-wheel drive Fiesta all across America and the world in feats of automotive awesomeness. There are other Fiesta rally racing teams and privateers out there though, including 19-year old Dillion Van Way, who is quickly making a name for himself in the 2wd class. He recently took home third place in the 100 Acre Wood Rally in his mostly-stock Fiesta.

Van Way, a Louisiana native, has competed in past rallies driving a 2002 Focus. His weapon of choice now is a Ford Fiesta, which helped him take home victory at the Rally Sno*Drift back in January. Amazingly, he entered into the Sno*Rally with a completely stock engine, right down to the engine mounts. Aside from moving the battery to the back and removing the brake booster, the engine bay was untouched.

He entered into the 100 Acre Wood Rally with the same Fiesta, which does have a roll cage, all the safety features, and some suspension modifications. There was also talk of adding a turbocharger for some extra power (which wasn’t needed on the icy roads of Sno*Drift) though judging from the sound of the car, it wasn’t completed in time for this drier race.

The five minute rally racing video is pretty fun to watch, and the technical walk-around makes us want to go out, buy a new Fiesta, and strip it to a shell just like these guys did. Only we’d be driving it every day too. Who doesn’t want to drive a race car to work? Anyway, watch the video and appreciate the fact that this 19-year old kid can probably drive better than you.
