Because it’s a Mustang, that’s why.

See, when you love a car as popular and well-known as the Mustang, going to car shows can be a bit…boring. You’ve got your well-restored, 100-point Concours Mustangs, your 800 horsepower drag racers, and your half-restored-but-still-drivable road cars. It can be difficult to make a Mustang stand out from the crowd, unless you just go nuts, throw caution to the win, and do something so over-the-top that it would be all but impossible to replicate.

This is one of those Mustangs. This 1968 Mustang has been jacked up, literally, sitting on a lifted 1967 Ford Bronco frame. Somehow, it found its way onto eBay, and of course it comes from America’s Last Frontier, Alaska.

This project actually dates back several decades, when the builder found himself with two cars that needed mending into one. See, this Mustang isn’t an original convertible; rather, the hard top was crushed from too much use as a trampoline, so the builder cut it off, lengthened the Mustang body to fit the Bronco, and somehow hooked up the drivetrain.

The shifter has the title of “World’s sloppiest shifter” and the 170 cubic-inch six-cylinder is old and underpowered for those big tires. The exterior is actually pretty clean, as this Alaskan-born Mustang now lives in sunny California. The interior is another story though; those original seats are in awful condition.

Alas, the final bid of $1,500 we feel really misses the point and value of this unique and cool Mustang/Bronco hybrid. When was the last time you saw one of these at a car show?
