Tim Meagher And DMC Racing Getting Ready For 2013

Dennis MacPherson and his gang of fabricators over at DMC Racing strive to put their customers at the top of the heap, regardless of what class they compete in, and the work they’ve performed to Tim Meagher’s gorgeous Mustang during this offseason to prepare for 2013’s X275 season is nothing short of jaw-dropping.

Meagher is no stranger to drag racing; in fact, he’s the 2006 NMCA Street Race class champion. A couple of rugrats appeared on the scene, and he was forced to take a step back for a little while. Now Meagher is finally ready to make his return to the big-time, and it looks to us like he’s doing it in a big way. Although the car was a stout performer in the past (running 1.29 short times on the antique BFG Drag Radial back in ’06) it has been completely updated to 25.3 specs by DMC Racing and constructed in such a way that Meagher will have a number of places to compete in for the upcoming season. Right now, he plans to make a debut in just two short weeks at Donald Long’s Lights Out IV race at South Georgia Motorsports Park, with testing to commence in the days prior to the event.

This machine features the best of the best – a 440 cubic inch engine from Nelson Competition and an 88mm Precision Turbo snail for X275 competition, although he also has a 94mm and a 116mm turbocharger waiting in the wings for other venues like NMRA Street Outlaw and Outlaw Drag Radial.

DMC prepared one of their brand-new rearend housings and upper and lower control arms to use underneath the car. The front suspension has also been upgraded to the latest technology from Racecraft, and Meagher is eager to get back on the track to see what the car has in its new configuration.

“These guys basically redid the whole entire car. They redid all of the piping, new intercooler placement, we powdercoated everything, painted the car, put on a new DMC wing, and Dennis built a new fuel tank for it. One of the coolest things Dennis and Eric (LaFerriere) designed was the new inlet for the manifold. It’s just a work of art,” he explained.

The car should be able to compete just about anywhere, and Meagher feels that with the big turbo the car is going to be capable of running 4.40’s in the 1/8th mile, 4.60’s in X275 trim, and low sevens in the quarter-mile without too much of an issue. One thing’s for sure – with DMC Racing and the rest of his sponsors on board, Meagher will be a force wherever he goes. We look forward to seeing him on the track real soon. Check out many more pictures of the build and DMC’s Facebook page, and give them a like while you’re there if you haven’t already.
