The goal of the Bama Performance Terminator project is simple – to turn this seemingly stock 03 cobra into a quarter-mile monster. This will happen over a variety of stages with help from Bama’s parent company American Muscle. The first stage is focused on utilizing the factory Eaton blower and trying to maximize the performance to show what these Terminators are capable of with just minimal tuning. After the first stage, they hope to have a Stang that is capable of mid 400‘s on the dyno and high 11 seconds at the strip.
It starts with a larger intake, larger throttle body and a new cold air intake that has been outfitted with a new Big Air 90mm MAF meter from SCT. According to the video the factory un-ported Eaton Blowers seem to thrive right around 15lbs of boost, much more than that and the performance starts to suffer. So to achieve that desired boost number, the team at Bama outfitted the engine with a Metco Motorsports 2.8 upper pulley, 8.10 lower pulley and a 90mm double bearing axillary idler.
Thanks to the added boost and more horsepower the team has also decided to address the need for more fuel by adding a MSD Booster Pump to increase fuel pressure and by adding a 1 step colder spark plug Autolite AR103 Plug. The plugs will ensure that the Stang doesn’t have to battle any detonation or pre-ignition issues.
To finish off the video the team showed off the Power Stop Street Warrior front and rear disc brake kit. The kit is outfitted with drilled and slotted rotors and carbon ceramic pads. For now the team has decided to keep the stock independent rear, knowing the common pitfalls of the rear axle. According to Paul of Bama, they are going to see how far they can go with the stock IRS and then beef it up later.
The video also hints to what the next stage will bring for the Terminator project, and from the sound of it, it’s going to be one awesome machine!
