The 2013-2014 GT500 is arguably the baddest machine that Ford and SVT have ever unleashed on the world. With 662 hp from the factory, some would argue why would you want more? Those making those arguments obviously don’t understand the high performance world we live in.
Our pals over at LateModelRestoration, recently strapped one of VMP Tuning’s Stage 4 power packs on a 2013 GT500. The package includes:
JLT Cold Air Intake
VMP Twin Jet 67mm Throttle Body
VMP 2.4″ Supercharger Pulley
90mm Idler Pulley
Pulley Removal Tool
SCT X4 Tuner
Custom VMP Tune
After making the changes, LateModelRestoration, strapped the GT500 to their in-house Dynojet and made a few blasts on the rollers. The end result was an impressive 700 hp, and 694 ft-lbs of torque. That’s on an otherwise completely stock GT500, no exhaust, or other mods. The coolest thing about this kit is that VMP includes the blower pulley removal tool. This means that any enthusiast with some basic hand tools, and competency at bolt-on performance can add around 100 hp to their GT500 in one afternoon.
The kit also leaves plenty of room to grow. With VMP and LateModelRestoration’s support, and bevy of products for the GT500, once owners get bored with 700 hp at the tires, they can start upping the power even more.
