When it comes to endurance racing, ElginRacing certainly knows how to do it. In the 6th Annual Devil in the Dark endurance race that spans 12 straight hours, ElginRacing’s No. 00 Boss 302R Ford Mustang completed 418 laps straight (or curved) to first place thanks to drivers Greg Obadia, David Jacobs and Todd Lamb. This is the second year piloting this car to victory after last year’s debut in this Boss 302R.
The ElginRacing Boss 302R was part of forty teams to compete from around the country. During the Friday night qualifying round, Greg Obadia pulled off a lap time of 1:26.150, a time that put the car on the pole. David Jacobs was first to pilot the car after the green flag dropped on Saturday, and the three drivers took turns every one and a half hours during the 12-hour race after stopping to top off gas and change tires. The Boss 302 was 16 laps ahead of second place Johnstone Supply BMW (No. 28) that was suffering from mechanical problems.

For a race that long and grueling, the MEATHEAD Racing crew, directed by Mike Collins, made sure each pit stop was as fast as possible. The Car Chief for ElginRacing, Jimmy Padgett, was able to keep the car running smooth and sound throughout the entire race. Team Strategist, Francois Bru, analyzed the lap times and was in charge of strategies for pit stops and pace throughout the race.
Not only did the ElginRacing Boss 302R win this race for 2015 and 2014, but they also took home victory during at Virginia International Raceway at the 13-hour Charge of the Headlight Brigade Enduro race last October 25th. After winning all three endurance races they have entered, ElginRacing sends a big thanks to Ford Performance and Bruce Smith for their assistance and technical support.
