Whenever it’s time to daydream about Mustangs, a popular site to visit is Performance Autosport. The site always features nice Mustangs for sale. The cars are built using top-of-the-line components, and many of the cars advertised are rare Saleen models, Cobras, Shelbys, Roush Mustangs, and the like. In a nutshell, if it’s an exceptional Mustang you seek, Performance Autosport probably has it.
When we recently checked out the site we came across this 1993 Cobra. This car has the best of everything on it, and is ready to be in your garage. The car wears recent Sikkens 2 stage polyurethane paint, with all questionable trim replaced with new items. A Griggs GR-40 suspension system works to greatly improve handling, and bring the Cobra lower than a snake’s belly. A 5-lug swap featuring Cobra R brakes is made possible the addition of SSR Ultralite wheels with Hankook Ventus R-S3 treads.
To turn those treads into smoke, the Cobra strikes with powerful venom using a 331-inch stroker with forged internals, an Anderson Ford Motorsports Hi-Rev blower cam, Fox Lake-ported Trick Flow high-ports, an Edelbrock Air Gap intake prepped for EFI, 60 lb/hr injectors, and a Vortech S-Trim supercharger. Performance Autosports’ Kevin Adolf tuned the combination using an SCT 4-bank chip to 520-rwhp and 438-rwtq.
Inside, the factory steering wheel, dash cluster, and seats have been replaced with more performance-derived items such as a Sparco suede wheel, Florida 5.0 gauge cluster filled with Auto Meter’s finest, and Corbeau buckets. The rear seat is deleted, and for improved safety, a 4-point roll bar was added to the car.
That’s quite the list of upgrades, and we just touched on the highlights. We would go pick up this car, but we’re a couple dollars short. That leaves you to make the deal, and add it to your garage.
