Team Mustang Girls is on the road for Rally North America sponsored by CJ Pony Parts, and the first day entailed a long trip through the Smoky Mountains from Knoxville, Tennessee, to Hendersonville, North Carolina.
This time around, Team Mustang Girls ended up with something not quite so Mustang-ish. Normally, Courtney’s classic 1965 Mustang is the centerpiece of the story, but with it in the shop getting new goodies and a recall denying any new Mustang from being rented off the lot that day, Team Mustang Girls took on something a bit different – a new Chevy Camaro convertible. Yes, it’s “Team Mustang Girls – Plan B.” Not only does it sport the appropriate decals, but the girls took it a step further and debadged the rear and slapped on a Ford Racing decal thanks to Bill.
The starting line was in Knoxville, Tennessee, and from there the girls hit the road to Hendersonville, North Carolina with a rally full of other sweet cars such as a new Alfa Romeo 4C, a couple of GT-Rs, a bunch of Mustangs, and even a Shelby Cobra among plenty of others.
It was a gloomy day to start out with and we had a nice thunderstorm to welcome us on our first day. The girls hit up various check points along the way including a 90-foot waterfall called Bald River Falls and Fort Loudon. However, there was one thing that they couldn’t quite pass up – the Tail of The Dragon. It was right there, all 313 curves and 11 miles of it. The sun was finally out and the roads were starting to dry so Team Mustang Girls took this opportunity to have some fun in the CamaraStang. Courtney handled the curves like a pro, and Amie made sure everything was tucked in for the wild ride. Today we are heading to Athens, GA from North Carolina on another fantastic day on the rally, so stay tuned for more.
