Several weeks ago we brought you footage of the 2015 Mustang GT making its European debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. We can see in that video how well the new GT’s suspension reacts to corners. As cool as it was to watch the footage, we found something this week to one up that.
In a video put out this week buy YouTube channel TheDriver we get our best look inside a 2015 GT in motion to date. The gauges in the center stack indicate that this GT is either a Performance Pack or a prototype wearing the Performance Pack’s center gauges.
Through the video we get to see how easily the driver is able to tame Goodwood’s course in the hands of a capable driver.
What we really enjoyed in this video more than watching the scenic British countryside fly by is the soundtrack. The 435 hp Coyote engine howls along as the driver rows each gear of the GT’s six-speed transmission. We’ve always loved the sound of a Mustang on the road course, but this particular ’15 sounds particularly aggressive. We can recall no stock Mustang that has ever sounded this good.
We can’t read the tachometer as he makes his way through the gears, but we assume that the driver is taking the car upstairs although probably not all the way to redline from the sound of it. This video has us lusting for our turn behind the wheel of a new GT and we really want to get one of these on the drag strip and experience the noise in all its glory first hand. Until we have that chance we’ll have to settle for kicking back with our noise canceling headphones, cranking the volume, and watching this video.
