2015 Mustang Recalled for Fuel Delivery Sensor Hiccup

Here’s a nice beauty shot of base coupe to take your mind off recalls.

Looks like we’ve got a another recall on the 2015 Mustang. Ford’s Media Center rung the bell December 4th and it involves 2015 Mustangs with the 2.3-litre Eco-Boost motor built at Flat Rock from 9/25-10/9/2014. Looks like the fuel pressure sensor might be installed wrong and could result in a fire. There has been no loss of life or accidents reported.

These days, the issue isn’t what the car is being recalled for. Manufacturers MUST notify public. That means even something that might seem mundane has to be recalled. Get used to it folks and let’s not get crazy, okay? Photo Courtesy seekingalpha.com

Recalls are here to stay folks and ultimately they’re a good thing. Where an OEM gets into trouble is NOT reporting or recalling manufacturing bugaboos, even if it’s the equivalent of an automotive hangnail. And hell’s fury will be unleashed if you mess with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or any of their sub agencies.  The good thing about recall-mania is it’s triggered all auto manufacturers doing business in the U.S. to clean out any skeletons in their closets.

It’s been said that social media comment sections are the latrine walls of our times and pagemasters and armchair auto critics alike have embraced these recalls as sure fire click bait and catnip for disgruntled folks. They get to declare, in a public forum, “After this recall for loose wingnuts, I’ll never buy a (insert latest recall OEM here) again!

As Ford fans, this is unfortunate timing as it coincides with intro of 2015 ‘Stang. We’ll have do our time in the digital public square and endure all sorts of surly comments and goofy memes.

In the meantime, if your car is affected by this campaign, go get it fixed, Ford will replace the fuel sensor assembly at no cost to the customer.

310 horsepower, 320 lb-ft. of torque. Not bad for 2.3 liters.
