Build Your Own 2015 Shelby GT With Online Customizer

2015 Shelby Guard infoWith the recent unveiling of the Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang at the Detroit Auto Show, the auto world has been abuzz with everything Shelby. While the GT350 and GT350R are hot Mustangs, the new Shelby GT is no laughing matter with its 627 horses packed under the hood.

When brought to Shelby American’s “Build Your Shelby GT” website, those interested in building their own Shelby get to choose between convertible or coupe, and then pick between ten different colors and five different stripe options. You can build your own  ’15 Shelby online now here.

Already included in the Shelby GT package is the Shelby/Ford Racing supercharger in black, Shelby GT stripes, and Weld wheels. If wanting to get even fancier, carbon fiber parts can be painted to match. The carbon fiber parts include the hood ($1,000), vents ($300), rockers ($800) and a rear spoiler ($400).

If looking for additional upgrades, feel free to opt for the Wilwood 4-piston rear brake upgrade ($2,995), caster/camber plates ($795), Katzkin premium leather interior standard seats ($2,995) or the Recaro seats ($2,995), 3M Crystalline window tint ($495) and 3M clear paint protection ($1,595), custom serialized car cover ($395), and track delivery ($2,500).

We played around and built our own Shelby in Guard with the painted hood upgrade complete with black stripes. We also added the Wilwood 4-piston brake upgrade. With just that, the package price jumps to $43,990, that price does not include the purchase of a new Mustang GT to deck out in this hardware.

Even if you can’t afford the steep price to play at this level, building your own 2015 Shelby GT Mustang is a fun way to pass time. It comes with a lot of awesome options already, but we can see how temptation for painted carbon fiber parts, big brakes and track delivery can really put an even bigger dent in the wallet. If you’re going to opt for a brand new Shelby GT, you might as well go all out, right?
