Video: Airaid Race Only Air Intake System For 2015 Mustang GT

With few exceptions, factory air induction systems are not designed to maximize horsepower and performance. Vehicle manufacturers have to meet federal and state NVH standards, as well as packaging concerns. They also must design a system that can be installed rapidly on the assembly line. Most experienced Mustang owners know this, and we usually replace those factory parts with something that will perform better. If your 2015 Mustang GT is in store for some heavy modifications and will be seeing a lot of trips to the track, your next modification should probably be an Airaid Race Only air intake system, part number 450-329.

We’ve had plenty of experience with Airaid products over the years and can attest to the company’s extensive research and design process, as well as the results we’ve seen with their products. Their standard 2015 Mustang GT system uses a closed box design to maximize airflow and prevent water intrusion or other debris into the filter area.

The Race only system features an all new shield that seals to the hood and blocks hot heat wash from the radiator and its fans. It opens up the air filter element to more cold air and more of a ram effect as the car moves down the track. It also features a special oiled race day air filter element designed to maximize air flow. This system is designed for use in dry track day environments only.

In a recent video, Airaid’s Trent McGee demonstrates how easy it is to install the Race Only air intake system. It’s a modification almost any enthusiast should be able to complete in less than one hour. We have to admit the sound of the Coyote V8 snarling through the Race Only air filter makes us want to jump in the car and head to the track. As far as horsepower, this system is intended to be used on modified cars, with a custom tune, while a tune isn’t required, it’s the only way owners will see the most gains from their intake. So if you’re heading to the track on a regular basis, this is a modification for your heavily modified 2015 Mustang GT that should definitely be on your list.
