X-Force exhaust systems are on the leading edge of variable exhaust note technology. Street, and track mode exhaust settings have been standard on many high end exotics for some time but the ability to fine tune the volume has never been an option. Usually a vacuum or electrically actuated system, the OEM exhaust flaps are opened under high load and RPM, or upon activation of a sport button. With X-Force Varex Remote Adjustable Mufflers, the driver can turn the volume up or down with levels everywhere between wide open, and fully shut.

With the Varex system closed the exhaust gasses are routed through the chambers and perforations of the muffler, dampening the audible frequencies that draw attention or contribute to cabin drone. The resulting muffling is astonishing, and sounds like it would rival the quiet stock system for comfort.

With the Varex flaps open the full exhaust note of this 5.0-liter Coyote V8 can be heard. The snarl of this engine is far from the rumble of older pushrod technology V8s and announces the Mustang’s entrance. So if you are looking for variable exhaust options, X-Force is definitely worth a look.
