Rally racing in America has a long way to go before it reaches the popularity the motorsport enjoys over in Europe. But with big names like Ken Block getting more and more involved in rally racing in the U.S., we feel like it is only a matter of time before races like the 100 Acre Wood become as well known as the Indy 500.

One of the up-and-coming stars of American rally racing is young Dillion Van Way, a 20-year old Louisiana native who between college classes drives his EcoBoost-powered Fiesta at rally tracks across the country. This latest video comes from the Oregon Trail Rally’s Super Special Stage.

We’ve reported on Dillon’s various successes from time to time, and it never ceases to impress us how this 20-year old manages to handle his 300 horsepower Fiesta. Whether or not it is actually EcoBoost powered, we don’t know, although it is definitely EcoBoost-sponsored, much like the 2013 Ford Fusion NASCAR Sprint Cup Car will be.

Regardless though, a 300 horsepower engine in a tiny Fiesta is further proof that Ford’s economy offering has serious potential. For just $25,000, including the cost of the car, you too can have a B-Spec racing Fiesta. And with Ford teasing the idea of an EcoBoost-powered Fiesta ST for the U.S., we are hopeful for the future of this spunky sub-compact.
