Billy Johnson, in a 2012 ROUSH Stage 3 (RS3) Mustang, takes on the Summit Point Raceway as part of the 2011 One Lap of America event. Johnson is co-driver with Jack Roush Jr. in the Grand Am Continental Tire series, however for the One Lap of America event, each had their own RS3 car, along with another co-driver.
Both of the 2012 ROUSH SRS3 Mustangs that were entered in the One Lap competition were ‘stock optioned’ vehicles. ROUSH Performance chose to run the optional 6-piston front brake upgrade, as well as the 2-way adjustable competition coil-over package on both of these cars. These are regular production options that anyone who purchases as ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang can have added to their car.
The RS3 comes fully-loaded with body styling upgrades, including the ROUSH front fascia with driving lights, chin spoiler, side rocker splitters, rear valence, rear deck-lid spoiler, and newly designed square exhaust tips. Interior enhancements include ROUSH leather seats with embroidered logos, four-piece performance pedals, newly designed shifter grip in either black or white and more.
The Summit Point Circuit is a ten turn, two mile road course that includes a 2900 foot straightaway and 400 feet of elevation change. The road course provides challenging high speed turns with ample run off areas and gravel traps along with a challenging and technical carousel section.
Both Stage 3 Mustangs topped their class during the One Lap of America event, ahead of a factory-sponsored 2011 Dodge 392 Challenger SRT8 and a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS.
