Ford GT Le Mans Documentary The Return Debuts On Amazon Prime

To coincide with the running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend Ford is releasing its first film on Amazon Prime. The Return documentary details Ford’s return to the historic race with the Ford GT on the 50^th anniversary of its historic 1-2-3 win.

“To win a race, you have to have incredible commitment,” Raj Nair, Ford executive vice president and president of North America, said. “This film captures the teamwork and challenges the team encountered and overcame living up to the Ford GT’s iconic heritage.”

Ford is releasing its first film free on Amazon Prime. The Return documents the Ford GT’s win at the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans on the 50th anniversary of its 1-2-3 finish in the historic race.

“As a director and an avid racing enthusiast, I set out to make a passion project of a movie,” Emmy Award-winning director Erich Joiner said. “I was able to shoot things that very few people ever get to witness about building a world-class race car and program. And then putting this new car and team up against the best in the world at the Le Mans 24 Hours. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience I will never forget.”

In advance of the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans race this weekend, Ford’s release of The Return documentary offers an inside look at the development of the street and race versions of the super car.
