The 2015 Mustang has been the talk of SEMA, it’s also been the talk of the aftermarket for nearly a year now. All of the top companies in the aftermarket are showing off their cars at SEMA, and that includes Chip Foose, who we had a feeling would be bringing a 2015 Mustang to SEMA.
Foose did not disappoint, bringing a custom 2015 Mustang EcoBoost convertible to the show and having it on display in the Ford booth. This green convertible has Foose’s touches all over it, and we’re told was the first EcoBoost convertible produced. Nearly every panel has had some work done by the master himself, and what might be even more amazing is that Foose completed this transformation in just three weeks.
The hood scoop stands out right away, and evokes some early muscle car heritage. That makes sense since Foose has said that his goal with this car was to apply some retro styling cues to the edgy and modern 2015. There’s also an all new chin spoiler on the car, rear deck lid spoiler, light bar, and side scoops, all built specifically for this car.
An area that received particular attention to detail was the doors. Foose spent considerable time modifying the lower portions of the doors, doing the sheet metal work himself. This was to achieve a subtle custom look.
The car rides on a custom set of Foose wheels, and the interior has also received plenty of custom fabrics and stitching to compliment the exterior. It’s definitely a unique and cool take on the S550 Mustang, as only Foose can do.
MMD Mustang
We also took a look at the MMD Mustang that was brought out to the SEMA show by American Muscle and MMD. This car features several new parts that MMD has developed for the S550 Mustang.
The car was wearing a new grill, chin spoiler, deck lid spoiler, and rear diffuser. It was also sporting a cool new side exit exhaust system that we’ll be interested in learning more about once MMD and American Muscle launch them.
Once the car heads back home from SEMA, American Muscle has plans to turn it over to the BAMA performance guys. The BAMA guys are certainly going to work their magic on the car, and we can’t wait what they do.
Regardless, this is a cool car to see today, and we’re looking forward to the final product once AM, MMD, and BAMA finish the project.
