To say Ken Block is an internet sensation would be an understatement. His Gymkhana video series showcases his driving skills in a number of amazing machines. For the tenth film in the series, the head Hoonigan turned to Detroit Speed in Mooresville, North Carolina, to construct an all-wheel-drive, EcoBoost-powered version of the same model truck he learned to drive in — a 1977 Ford F-150.
…It’s simply one of the most badass and unique vehicles I’ve seen in a long time… — Ken Block, Hoonigan Racing Division
“This project has been in the works for about two years,” Ken explained. “I’m beyond pleased with how it turned out, it’s simply one of the most badass and unique vehicles I’ve seen in a long time and I think it complements my Hoonicorn perfectly. It’s also crazy to be throwing something around that’s this size when doing Gymkhana-style driving. But, it looks absolutely wild on camera, and that was our goal from the start. I can’t wait for the fans to be able to see it in action, I think they’re gonna love it!”
You will be able to see the truck’s build, testing, and filming of Gymkhana Ten as part of Ken’s new Amazon Prime series, The Gymkhana Files. It is on that platform where Gymkhana Ten will first be shown on December 7, 2018 before eventually appearing on the Hoonigan YouTube channel on December 17, 2018. Before all that, however, attendees of the SEMA show will be able to peep this monster machine in the Toyo Tires booth.
