Official Release:
John’s Industries, the “Professional Builder’s Choice”, introduces their new original, custom John’s Industries 9-inch Nodular Iron Case that retains the stock appearance of the original Ford case while providing for a quick set-up and accommodating over double the horsepower of its predecessor. Made in the USA, John’s new Nodular Iron Case becomes a top quality replacement for the popular Ford 9-inch set-up through the combined use of a stronger base material with a re-engineered design that keeps the integrity of the stock outward appearance while enhancing the capabilities of the case internally.
“The 9-inch Ford case is a very popular choice amongst racers, street rodders and muscle car enthusiasts,” said John Melchiori, owner of John’s Industries. “We strive to make products that address the growing demands of the industry and hobbyists, which are quality, affordability, and a capacity for increased performance that delivers satisfaction beyond expectation.”
The increasingly hard-to-find original stock 9-inch Ford case typically comes with signs of wear and fatigue from prior usage as indicated by rusted areas that are chipped or pitted. Additionally, the original cases were not designed to meet the demands of today’s increased horsepower. John’s 9-inch Nodular Iron Case not only looks like the original Ford case, but it was re-engineered and designed with an emphasis on increased quality – starting with its base material. A departure from the stock case’s grey iron, John’s 9-inch Nodular Iron Case also features reinforced webbing to ensure a greater resistance to impact, fatigue and overall wear.
John’s has also identified areas of the stock Ford case design that would benefit from additional reinforcements. The new case has added material in areas that were considered weak spots and prone to stress cracks in the original design. Additionally, the areas with bolt holes received an increase in thickness to ensure strength and durability. Inside of the case, the design was adjusted to provide proper clearance for gears. Designing the 9-inch Nodular Iron Case with the biggest bore offered by Ford, street rods using John’s case will experience improved performance with the stronger and lighter differential component.
