Road-racing performance is all about managing the corners–anyone can go fast in a straight line. Maximum Motorsports has these sweet Tilton clutch assemblies designed for the ’79-04 Mustang equipped with pushrod engines that are designed to improve corner entry and exit performance, along with enhancing acceleration and shifting speed.
Official Release:
Maximum Motorsports is the exclusive source for complete Tilton multi-disc clutch kits for late-model Mustangs.
Lightweight Tilton clutches have been winning races and championships since 1972. Tilton’s design advantage is a clutch-and-flywheel assembly whose super-low “moment of inertia” (MOI) quickens acceleration, allows faster shifting, and improves braking and downshifting at corner entry. Multiple 7.25-inch-diameter discs greatly increase torque-holding capability over a typical 10.25-inch, single-disc Mustang clutch, without adversely affecting the MOI.
Complete two-disc and three-disc installation kits are now available for 5.0L-based pushrod engines in 1979-2004 Mustangs. Lightweight flywheels accommodate either internally-balanced or externally-balanced engines. Discs are available for both 10-spline (standard Ford) and 26-spline (aftermarket) input shafts. For ease of installation, the OEM clutch cable release design is retained. Clutch kits for the Coyote 5.0L engine are under development.
Each Maximum Motorsports package includes a disc pack, aluminum clutch cover, lightweight flywheel with ARP bolts, throw-out bearing, adjustable-height fork pivot, disc-alignment tool, and adjustable clutch-pedal stop.
Features:
- Low moment of inertia improves performance on-track
