We all love the Raptor. Ford showed the world that big, desert-bombing trucks are what we all really want, despite our protests that Lamborghinis or Ferraris are the dream vehicles. Now, ROUSH is making the Raptor even more appealing as it debuts the 2019 ROUSH Raptor.
Taking a successful formula and adding to it is a difficult task, but the experts at ROUSH made it happen. The big changes are to the engine, exhaust, and tuning. For the engine, ROUSH offers the Performance Pac option, which installs its Cold Air Intake Kit. This improves the flow of air and provides a denser charge to the combustion chamber, releasing more power and providing a more efficient burn. The package also includes ROUSH’s Axle-Back Exhaust System and a three-inch-diameter exhaust system, as well as an ECU flash.
With the upgrades to the engine and exhaust, you’d guess that the Raptor would be a beast of a machine, and you’d be right. The numbers come in at 72 additional horsepower and 55 lb-ft of torque, meaning you’d have overall 522 horsepower and 565 lb-ft of torque.
“The 2019 ROUSH Raptor is our most capable off-road vehicle to date,” said Jack ROUSH Jr. “From ice and snow to the depths of the desert, this vehicle conquers the terrain with iconic ROUSH performance and design, especially now that it is available with our Performance Pac engine upgrades.”
More than just performance, however, ROUSH also rounds out the aesthetics, too. These include a chase rack with optional Rigid Industries lighting, as well as a graphics package. There’s also the interior revamp, including a custom gauge cluster, headrest embroidery, and a serialized console badge.
