We’re always on the lookout for Modular motorĀ and Coyote engine swaps, whether they be in Mustangs or any other car in the blue oval family. While we were browsing YouTube, we happened to stumble onto moparman20‘s videos of his turbocharged 5.0 liter Coyote V8 swapped Mercury Marauder. Now we think it goes without saying, but we’re going to say it anyways: we think this might just be the ultimate sleeper.
On the Marauder forums, user 96gt4.6 (moparman20) has an entire thread with over 20 pages dedicated to his build since he started it back in July of this year. The thread details a lot of information regarding the overall swap, including the parts and some installation pictures. From what we’ve gathered from the thread, 96gt4.6 chose a 5.0 Coyote block from a ’12 F-150 and matching 6R80 transmission from the donor truck. He explains that he’ll be splitting this process into two phases: the first being to complete the swap, get the car running, and work out any anticipated bugs necessary to have a good, running and reliable swapped car. The second phase will continue with the integration of his custom-built turbocharger kit, which he plans to tune himself via HP Tuners.
Let us be the first ones to say, we think this is a fantastic and original swap. We’re all about one-off stuff like this, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what’s in the future for his Coyote Marauder project. Check out the build thread for yourself, as there’s over 20 pages detailing the swap progress there.
