If there are any Mickey Thompson tires under the Christmas tree for you this year, then you’ve been a good boy or girl, because lots of car guys and gals would love to find a pair of ET Street Rs or ET Street SS tires under their tree. However, if you’ve been a bad boy or girl, you can always check out this new video from that Mickey Thompson showcases its warehouse; and perhaps, you’ll be better in 2016.
This video goes from Mickey Thompson Tires’ beginnings when Thompson was busy smashing speed records and setting the tone for the worldwide brand that’s still going strong today. The video was made at the company’s Stow, Ohio headquarters, and shows the diversity of its product line.
Of course, the company began with Thompson running land speed events at Bonneville and other venues. The video highlights the company’s Bonneville tire, capable of going 500 mph on a piston-driven vehicle. That’s just the beginning of what Mickey Thompson has to offer, with everything from Pro Stock Motorcycle tires to off road Baha Claws, street tires, and everything in between. The company has 170 new part numbers for the wheel market, too.
For us, though, we’re into drag racing, and the video speaks to us, as well. Carl Robinson tells us about Mickey Thompson’s ET Drag bias-ply, and the recently introduced Pro Drag Radial, which is worth “about a nickel to a dime, at least, on your elapsed time,” Robinson says. He means half a tenth, to a full tenth, just by adding the Pro Drag Radial to your program versus earlier versions of similar-sized radials.
