There’s all manner of big events that take place at SEMA, the aftermarket’s biggest show of the year. One of those is the giveaway of the Edelbrock 75th anniversary 2013 Mustang. Nine months ago Edelbrock began a giveaway contest, which according to Edelbrock’s Eric Blakely received more than 641,000 entires, from over 250,000 individuals (you could enter more than once). Over 985,000 people visited the contest page during the contest period.
This 2013 Mustang wasn’t just a base model GT though, the car was tricked out with a host of speed and performance enhancements from Edelbrock and Ford Racing Parts. The foundation of this was an Edelbrock E-Force supercharger package, part number 1588, which produces 559 hp, and 503 ft-lbs at the flywheel. The car also had the Ford Racing Brembo brake package with upgraded wheels, and a Ford Racing handling pack and other parts installed. Of course this being an Edelbrock Mustang it has to be red.
Of the over quarter-million people who entered, Lonnie Hammock submitted his name a dozen times, which was good enough to net him the keys. Hammock and his wife Lorraine, from Pahrump, Nevada were brought to the SEMA show in style courtesy of Edelbrock. When they leave, the car will be sent back to their home. Vic Edelbrock was on hand to personally hand the keys to the Hammocks along with Ford’s George Goddu.
Congratulations to the Hammocks on winning the contest, and enjoy the power and performance of that new Mustang.
