The Ford Mustang has always appealed to the fairer sex, though early models were almost exclusively designed by men in nearly every field. In the past few decades however, women have worked their way up through the ranks of automakers like Ford, and today hold many key positions on innumerable projects, including the 2015 Mustang.
To celebrate International Women’s Day and National Women’s History month, Ford has highlighted four important female members of the 2015 Mustang team.
Among them is Marcy Fisher, the vehicle line director for the 2015 Mustang who oversees every aspect of the vehicle, from the planning process to the date it hits dealerships. She also oversees the Ford Explorer, the Taurus Police Interceptor, Escape, and Flex vehicle lines, and was named among the 100 Leading Women in the Automotive Industry.
There’s also Michele Lubin Henney, the vehicle integration supervisor who is in charge of how the 2015 Mustang looks, feels, and sounds. So when you’re screaming down the highway, make sure you thank the lady who made it happen. Susan Lampinen, meanwhile, was in charge of selection exterior paint colors and interior materials, while Melanie Banker is the woman in charge of the 2015 Mustang’s marketing campaign.
These are just a few of the ladies who have helped make the 2015 Mustang a world class vehicle.
