The car industry directly and indirectly employs hundreds of thousands, perhaps even millions of people in this country. Directly, the major OEM’s have their factories and parts suppliers, but indirectly there is a huge economy that encompasses all sorts of individuals and professions. And because Americans have an insatiable appetite for customized cars, there are a ton of unique creations rolling across the auction block.
Mustang Evolution came across two auctions for customized Mustangs from the pilot episode of the Speed Network show “Car Warriors. The cars will be sold at the Leake Collector Car Show and Auction in Dallas November 18-20th.
The first episode of “Car Warriors” featured two teams; the Challengers, and the All Stars, who had to build a complete race car from top to bottom on a tight schedule. Both teams started with a Mustang, and the Challengers went ahead with a more “traditional” Mustang, opting for some artsty hoodwork and naming their car “Old Skull.” It looks badass to be sure…but having missed the first episode, we’re not sure what it is packing under the hood.
Meanwhile, the All Stars went wild, turning their Mustang into a Gasser in just 72 hours. With a supercharged 351 Windsor engine an eye-grabbing green paint job, and a beefy 9-inch rear end, it certainly looked and sounded the part of an old school Gasser. For our money, we’d go with the Gasser…but what about you guys? Are you looking forward to another season of Car Warriors or what?
