Automakers have gone to great lengths, and make great strides, when it comes to protecting ones car from thieves. Unfortunately, they cannot retroactively go back and refit every car they ever built. These means that many classic American muscle cars have little or not protection from thieves, making them easy pickings.
A Washington sate auto dealership learned that the hard way when a 1967 Ford Mustang was stolen right off of their lot, reports the Spokesman-Review.
The Mustang, which was stored in a trailer, was last seen on the night of December 11th. On the morning of the 12th, the trailer containing the car was discovered missing. In addition to the car and trailer, a shed was burgled and a set of tires and rims were also stolen from the grounds. These thieves didn’t overlook anything. The car was a black ’67 Mustang like the one pictured above.
All too often these cars end up on some outbound freighter, bound for places like Europe or China where tracking them down is all but impossible.
