GAS, or Galpin Auto Sports, has been quite popular with their highly-modified wide-body S-197 Mustangs, among other things. They’ve made quite a name for themselves after appearing on MTV’s Pimp My Ride and have only gone up from there, especially with these new wide-body kits they’ve been hand crafting for the S-197..

GAS had three wide-body Mustangs alone displayed out front of their large SEMA booth this past November. These widened ‘Stangs came in the form of a 2012 Shelby GT 500, a Mustang GT, and an orange BOSS 302. Here’s a look at those and some other Galpin-ized Mustang creations.

2012 Shelby Super Snake

The wide-body 2012 Shelby GT 500 Super Snake is a force to be reckoned with and it’s pushing down a crazy 1,000 horsepower. After GAS cut it up to add 9-inches to the width of the body, they also installed a one-off, handmade Shelby suspension and chassis bracing. This specific wide-body Super Snake is custom painted black with Tungsten Grey racing stripes with Forgiato GTR lightweight three-piece wheels for a stylish look.. Also added to this bad boy are rear sealed-up quarter windows and electric exhaust cutouts.

Boss 302-X

When GAS gets their hands on a BOSS 302, it’s on. They widened the handmade all-metal body a crazy nine inches, making it look like one mean machine. Ther BOSS sports a Matte Orange Pearl PPG paint job with custom black painted BOSS graphics.

Not only is it pretty but it’s powerful.

The engine features a custom-built ProCharger kit bringing the rear wheel horsepower to an impressive 780. Other modifications include one-off massive one-piece forged Forgiato wheels wrapped with Pirelli 335/30/30 tires in the rear and 295/35/20 in the front. Other additions include Borla Attack exhaust, Stoptech vented and grooved front and rear rotors, Brembo front brake calipers, Ford Racing lowering springs, Laguna Seca rear wing, Extreme front air dam, and custom sealed rear windows. A six-point roll cage is painted to match the exterior of the car, with BOSS 302-X racing seats with custom embroidery and Laguna Seca gauge pod rounding out the interior. SPX Supercharged 5.0

Amie Williams

This Supercharged 5.0-liter was created specifically for SPX and the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and was inspired by the original BOSS 429. It was auctioned off for charity at the 2012 Barrett-Jackson auction held in Scottsdale, Ariz.

This custom Mustang features the handmade metal wide-body kit GAS is known for, along with three-piece staggered Forgiato GTR wheels, 22 x 14 for the rear wheels and 21 x 11 for the front wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tires – 335/25/22 wrapped around the rear wheel and 295/25/21 on the front. Not only does it have the looks, but it’s rocking a Ford Racing supercharger, allowing this beast to throw down a stout 700 horsepower.

Interior upgrades consist of an SPX Sunpro gauge pod kit, SPX Sunpro tachometer and shift light, Hurst short shifter, custom red suede and black leather seats and door panels, black suede headliner and custom Pony embroidered headrests. Exterior modifications include BOSS-style functional rear scoops, custom sealed rear quarter windows, a 429 BOSS hood scoop, a CDC modified front spoiler, Laguna Seca rear spoiler, Bassani Performance exhaust system, Ford Racing performance suspension kit, custom formulated PPG 3-stage Candy Apple Red paint, and a custom built 1000-watt JL Audio system complete with LED accent lighting.

2011 5.0 WideBody
This wide-body came to GAS and needed an overhaul. At first, it featured only a Ford Racing supercharger and put down 525 horses the rear wheels. The team at GAS took it under their wing and added their infamous wide-body metal body kit, Wilwood brakes, and a sharp custom Midnight Black paint scheme with red racing stripes and accents on the wheels. It also features a Bassani exhaust system with Massive Forgiato Wheels wrapped with Pirelli Tires.

Tony Hawkized Mustang
GAS and DUB teamed up to put together this Tony Hawk Mustang to auction if off in benefit of Stand Up for Skate Parks. It’s been “Hawkized” with a clean, yet rugged look.

Shelby GT500 Wide Body
This sinister Shelby received the GAS treatment with their awesome handmade body kits. It features a beautiful Black Pearl three-stage paint with Blue Pearl Clear Coat accents. Aside from the sweet paint job, it has a Bassani exhaust system with the massive Forgiato three-piece 22 x 13 rear wheels and 21 x 11 for the front wheels. This 5.4L Shelby puts down an impressive 700 horses and 510 lb-ft. of torque and has Ford’s Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing.

X-1 Mustang

This custom, jet-inspired Mustang is named the “X-1” and is a supercar with a complete jet cockpit. It features all of the advanced instrumentation and a single seat in the center of the ‘Stang. It has a concealed motorized steering wheel connected to a dash equipped with a sensor pack that displays both night and thermal vision, a GPS transponder, custom “Gull Wing” doors, and interior panel fabrication to give the car the feeling of a jet the X-1. The X-1 can be seen on the East Coast part of the Air Force recruiting tour.

2010 Wide-Body Convertible

This 2010 Wide-Body was featured inside the GAS booth of the 2009 SEMA show in Las Vegas. Installed on this bad boy is a Ford Racing 550 horsepower supercharger system, Ford Racing Handling Pack, Hurst shifter, a JPC one-piece aluminum drive shaft, and a McLeod aluminum flywheel/dual disc clutch. On top of that, it features stopping power supplied by Wilwood brakes and two-piece rotors paired with 20-inch Forgiato one-piece forged aluminum “Mono Leggera Pinzette” wheels wrapped with Nitto Invo high performance tires.

The exterior features a handmade wide body kit, 3dCarbon tonneau cover, and PPG custom two-tone gloss black and pearl grabber blue paint with silver accents. Interior details include Katzkin leather seats, Ford Racing custom backlit door sill plates and JL Audio sound system.

Unleashed Skeleton Tattoo

Daniel Verlarde, a 24 year old and a longtime Mustang fanatic, has shown some dedication by getting a new custom Pony logo inked on his body. He participated in Ford Motor Company’s “The 10 Unleased” program, which encouraged people to submit entries about their dream car experience.

“I wanted a tattoo artist to design a 2010 Mustang tattoo and I wanted the creation to be brought to life with the customization of an actual 2010 Mustang,” said Verlarde. “This way, I could be a part of the car and the car would always be a part of me.”

The design was airbrushed onto the Mustang and GAS added 20-inch wheels, a hood scoop, side scoops and side window louvers, a rear deck fascia, and an FR3 Handling Pack for the mean, lowered stance.
