The national obsession with huge wheels has pretty much become mainstream now; once, 20-inch rims were considered huge. Now they’re standard fare on pretty much every muscle car, sports car, or large luxury sedan. If you really want to impress people with the diameter of your wheels, you have to aim much higher than a mere 20-inches.
Now, these 28-inch rims? Oh ya, that is the next level of cool right there. And nothing is cooler than adding 28-inch rims to a 40th anniversary Mustang V6. Oh yeah baby, that’s the stuff right there.
The video appears to be the standard dealership “walk around” set to some kind-of-funny music. The sticker price is a jaw-dropping $12,000 for what we will admit is a fairly clean 2004 Ford Mustang V6. Honestly though, the wheels are probably worth more than the car, though the former owner though adding some hideous side-exhaust tips would improve the value.
Uh huh.
It’s a shame to see this Mustang riding on such ridiculous rims, but someone obviously felt this was the best way for them to express themselves via an automobile. Obviously, it wasn’t a lasting love, despite all the fender and suspension work that probably went into fitting those huge wheels. We wonder how bad those huge wheels affected fuel economy?
Probably not half as bad as the wheels hurt the curb appeal though. Most people just aren’t in the market for a Mustang wearing 28-inch rims.
