Participating in motorsports is a big part of any major automaker’s marketing expenditures. Because while we all love a good automotive competition, at the end of the day the only reason automakers compete is for the prestige and marketing power victory affords them. As such, the marketing teams put a lot of thought into what sells, and what doesn’t.
Whoever settled on Ford’s new racing livery, we have to say, they did their homework. Ford Racing has settled on a black and blue as their team racing colors, and frankly we think its a great choice.
The new signature look for the Ford Racing team across the globe debuted on the 2013 Ford Fusion Sprint Cup Car, which will take to the track for the first time at the 2013 Daytona 500. But eventually, all Ford Racing vehicles will utilize the blue/black livery, including the NHRA Mustang Funny Car, BITD off-road F-150 racer, and the Ford Falcon from the V8 Supercar series in Australia.
This also marks the beginning of the EcoBoost name to be featured prominently on race vehicles. While we know of just a few Ford Racing teams utilizing the new EcoBoost engines, one can only assume that the future holds plenty more turbocharged racing action from the Blue Oval.
So what say you Ford fans? Do you like the black and blue livery, or did you have another look in mind?
