The Mustang has a custom frame to help absorb all of the power that the 494ci. BOSS motor can throw at it.

There are certain aspects that make this clip great; the music, the angles, the random shots of vintage photos, and the cherry on the cake is the Mustang itself. Bodie Stroud of BS Industries took a derelict ’69 Mustang and made it into something truly spectacular. 

It’s been chopped, widened, and thanks to the 1 of 10 494ci BOSS engine, it’s unibody construction has been replaced with a full frame. It might sound like sacrilege to some of you, but with 777hp on tap, Bodie wanted to ensure that the Mustang’s architecture could handle all of the torque and abuse the driver throws at it.

The incredibly rare powerplant was built to be used in Mario Andretti’s Can Am race car back in 1969. When this car was unveiled at the 2011 SEMA show, Andretti was sure to stop by the booth to give it his blessing. He signed the engine, and the expression on his face when he saw the car was clearly one of pleasant surprise, and you can see it in the video.

Every aspect of this throwback ‘Stang has been modified in some way or another, and even if you’re not a huge fan of Mustangs, you can’t deny the appeal of this monster!
