Please Welcome Centerforce To The Power Automedia Family

If you’ve never heard of Centerforce Clutches, you’ve been living under a rock for the last thirty years. The original Centerforce clutch design was patented by Centerforce founder Bill Hays in response to problems of the time with competition-style clutches and non-asbestos friction materials. The Centerforce design applies weights through the use of centrifugal force to assist in clutch clamping loads, allowing for an easy pedal effort while maintaining high clamping force. The original design has been refined and re-refined, resulting in a number of different innovative clutch styles from the Centerforce team.

The original Centerforce design has been subsequently improved to result in the Centerforce II, while the Centerforce Dual Friction, featuring a full-face on the pressure plate side and carbon-composite puck-style facing on the flywheel side for positive engagement and increased capacity, has become one of the most-used street-strip clutches on the market today. The DFX Series is the competition-proven clutch package that works in select import and domestic applications, and provides some of the best drivability from a race-inspired single-disc clutch. The more-aggressive DFX clutch has better durability and a dampened paddle-style clutch disc.

For road- and circle-track racing applications, the LMC Series has been designed specifically with low inertia and reduced weight that reduces rotating mass. The special pressure plate in the LMC Series is machined from aircraft-grade billet aluminum and has a special heat-treated replaceable friction surface. Dual-segmented carbon-composite facing lines the disc and has been designed to work efficiently with the lightweight pressure plate, and when combined with a lightweight aluminum flywheel, these clutches are hard to beat.

And for you dual-disc users, Centerforce’s DYAD Drive System multi-disc clutch design works great for those vehicles that require a twin-disc. The system comes fully assembled including a flywheel, and can handle up to 1300 foot-pounds at the flywheel for you maniacs trying to burn down the dyno. It’s designed to be quiet and smooth, with a light pedal effort.

The company also carries a complete line of precision-engineered billet flywheels and clutch accessories, and has the experience to help you select the correct product the first time. They have a great website with tons of tech information, so check them out!
