We guess all show cars have to start somewhere. For Chris Terry’s 2006 Mustang GT, he bought the car new and used it as a daily-driver for about a year and a half. But then Terry took the GT to a couple car shows, won a couple trophies, and it was on from there. “I was hooked,” Terry says.

“The car has undergone several different face lifts since 2008,” Terry says about the car’s level of modifications. “It’s now finished because there’s nothing left to do to the car,” he adds. We would agree with Terry’s assessment. Many people go too far, and in our eyes, his 2006 GT is just right.

No part of the car was left untouched. Even the interior features custom touches no one else even thinks about. In Chris Terry’s case, the mods are tastefully done.

Let’s start with the outside. The Satin silver GT features a Roush front bumper cover and spoiler, Saleen side skirts, side louvers, sport mirrors, side scoops, and a GT500KR rear spoiler. The car’s wheels are BC Forged 20-inch units wrapped with Continental tires.

Moving inside, carbon fiber abounds. The headliner, console, door sills, rear seat delete, gauge pod, and dash vent panels are all carbon fiber. The Momo steering wheel is painted to match the airbag panels, while the car’s Corbeau GTS-2 seats are redone in a Ferrari diamond pattern with a dark silver thread and custom embroidered headrests by Sue Martin from ASM Upholstery of Fast N’ Loud fame. “Everything that could be, was replaced with either chrome or polished billet,” Terry says. The trunk hides the car’s Airlift airbag system’s dual compressors and chrome tank.

The engine is simply breathtaking, without being overdone. And yet, it makes power, while looking that good.

Under the hood was treated accordingly, as well. It’s not all show under there, the pumped up Three-Valve makes 490-rwhp thanks to a ProCharger P-1SC supercharger. As you can see, the ProCharger is polished, but so are the billet fuel rails, the power steering tank, the billet pulleys, the tensioner, the stainless hood liner, and the firewall cover. If it’s not polished, it’s chrome. The cam covers, the brake fluid cover, fuse box cover, ECM cover, and the coolant tank have been swathed in shiny chrome. Don’t let all the razzle dazzle fool you, though. We’re sure the car’s BBK Performance long-tube headers and Spintech mufflers belt out a tune to let bystanders know this car is way more than just a pretty face.

So yeah, those are just the highlights of Chris Terry’s 2006 GT. He says he’s done with this car, but we have some insider information on why he’s quick to be done with this car’s modifications. “I have touched every inch of the car,” Terry says, but he just purchased a Terminator Cobra that he plans to touch early and often to get it to this GT’s level.

Hopefully, it won’t take him 9 years to get the Cobra to this level like it did this GT. The experience of building this car should help reduce that time from start to “Done.”
