When Ford re-introduced the world to the Mustang’s famous 5.0 engine, aftermarket builders all over the country rejoiced. They knew that this meant a new engine to develop performance parts for, but little did they realize that the power the new 5.0 engine held within it. In naturally aspirated form, the 420 horsepower 5.0 is a formidable engine; strap some forced induction to it, and you had better hold on tight.

While checking out YouTube, we came across this video of two of the fastest, most powerful street-legal 2011+ Mustangs in America drag racing. One has a supercharger, the other sports twin-turbos, and while equally-matched, there can be only one winner. So who do you think took home the checkered flag?

The competitors are two 2011 Ford Mustang GTs, both built by Power by the Hour Performance in Boynton, Florida, and both cars were tuned by Lund Tuning. “Coffeeman” sports a Procharger F1A supercharger system with an air-to-water cooling system backed by a stock automatic transmission. The 19-inch wheels wear 305 mm drag radial rubber, and Coffeeman’s car tips the scales at 3,975 lbs.

His competition is Ken Bjonnes, another 2011 Mustang GT that forgoes the supercharger in favor of TwinTurbo50.com turbocharging system. It also has an air-to-water intercooler, stock transmission, and 305 drag radials, which could explain why these two cars are within a few one-hundredths of a second of one another at the King of the Street competition. Coffeeman ran a 9.54 @ 144 to the TT50’s 9.37 @ 154 mph.
