Mustangs have always been popular charity and raffle cars because, who wouldn’t want a new Mustang? With such a wide range of models from the V6 to the GT, to the Shelby GT500, there’s a level of Mustang for almost every charity budget. For many of us, the only chance we’ll have to own a car like the Shelby GT500 is to win it in a raffle.
So if you’ve got an extra $50 or so in your pocket, you might want to consider buying yourself a ticket to the Shelby American Collection’s raffle of a 2014 Shelby GT500. With a price tag of more than $63,000, a $50 wager seems worth the odds.
A minimum of 2,500 tickets have to be sold in order for the prize to be given away, but it will be limited to just 4,000 entries. You can buy as many tickets as you want, though even if you buy just one, the 4,000-to-1 odds are better than you get with most lottery tickets, and the prize is way better too.
This Shelby GT500 was optioned out with performance in mind, having both the SVT Performance Package and SVT Track Pack options ticked off. The Performance Package adds a TORSEN differential, adjustable Bilstein shocks, 19-and-20-inch wheels, and SVT-tuned suspension to the Shelby, while the Track Pack includes an external engine oil cooler, as well as a differential and transmission coolers with their own pumps.
Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Shelby American Collection car museum in Boulder, Colorado. This museum is home to a large number of Shelby racing cars. All proceeds from ticket sales go to benefit the museum, which is a non-profit organization. Ticket sales began on May 21, and run through September 14, or when 4,000 tickets have been sold, whichever comes first. The drawing is set for Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 6:00 pm, and entrants don’t have be present at the time of the drawing.
