While the Iconic Mustang has always been about the ride, and its angry snarl as it cruises about, one owner of an all-new 2015 Mustang GT recently experienced first-hand many of the new safety features of this high-powered beast. With the owner in possession of their brand new V8 Powered Stang for only eight days, the car met an early demise when it was struck by a drunk driver head-on in a high speed collision.
Fortunately we can report the owner walked away with only bumps and bruises. However, his new horse is beyond repair and will unfortunately be retired. Hats off to Ford Motor Company engineering some great safety functions. The owner expressed how well the car performed in the crash with the new safety features.
Reviewing the video footage we must concur the safety package of the all-new S550 is beyond impressive. With a full suite of driver assistance technologies such as a rear-view camera, an adaptive cruise control system, forward collision warning, blind-spot detection radar sensors and a cross traffic alert system, along with high-intensity discharge headlamps the all-new S550 undoubtedly displayed its capabilities of maintaining the driver’s safety in the worst case scenarios in this latest collision.
With an updated formula and reinvention of the 2015 Mustang, that includes unprecedented levels of safety, Ford Motor Company has delivered a win on many levels. Experiencing first-hand the amazing safety package of the Mustang, looking to the future, we can share that this loyal fan of the Mustang and of the Blue Oval has decided he will once again saddle up and pilot another horse come spring when he acquires his second 2015. Sadly someone’s poor decisions lead to this incident, and hopefully that person is uninjured, and held responsible for their actions. In the meantime it’s nice to know that the new Mustang performs as well in a crash as it does in other areas.
